TMZ has learned that director Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds) has been arguing with his famous neighbor, Oscar-winning writer Alan Ball (American Beauty), who has also created such shows as “Six Feet Under” and “True Blood.”

Tarantino has complained to Ball that he has trouble working at home because Ball owns lots of exotic birds that constantly emit “blood-curdling screams.” Ball has refused to do anything about it, which is why Tarantino has filed a lawsuit against him in hopes that a judge will silence the birds.

According to the lawsuit, Tarantino claims ever since Ball installed an “exotic bird menagerie,” he has been forced to endure the “obnoxious pterodactyl-like screams” of the macaw birds. He says that the noise has “seriously disrupted [his] ability to work as a writer in his home.”
